Biography

Ivan Feris is a litigator who focuses his practice on complex commercial litigation, class action litigation, investigations, and white-collar defense. Ivan has participated in various high-profile litigations including the defense of politically charged government prosecutions, both civil and criminal.

Prior to joining Lawson Huck Gonzalez, PLLC, Ivan worked at a boutique law firm in Miami, Florida where he practiced in the areas of complex commercial litigation, white-collar criminal defense, arbitration matters both international and domestic, judgment enforcement actions, legal malpractice cases, internal investigations, and regulatory advisory roles.

Notably, Ivan was counsel of record in the case of New York v. Trump et al, Index No. 452564/2022 (Sup. Ct. NY Cnty.) where he defended certain entities beneficially owned by President Donald J. Ivan also participated in drafting the motion to dismiss briefings in the case of United States v. Trump et al., Case No. 23-80101-CR-CANNON-REINHART (S.D. Fla. 2023), successfully obtaining a dismissal of a criminal prosecution against President Trump on constitutional grounds.

Ivan also spent time at Sidley Austin LLP and Akerman LLP where he practiced in the areas of class action defense, consumer protection litigation, products liability litigation, antitrust litigation, appellate litigation, white-collar defense matters, international arbitration matters, and administrative law matters.

Ivan earned his J.D., magna cum laude, from the Florida International University’s College of Law, where he graduated as salutatorian of his class. While in law school, Ivan served as the Executive Marketing Editor for the FIU Law Review, a member of the Moot Court Board of Appellate Advocacy, and a 1L Representative for the Student Bar Association. During law school, Ivan also interned with the Miami-Dade Public Defender’s Office, assisting lawyers in providing pro bono representation to indigent individuals.
