Buddy is an associate in Lawson Huck Gonzalez’s Miami office, where he represents clients in complex civil cases in state and federal courts. Buddy has experience representing both plaintiffs and defendants, and his practice focuses on commercial and government litigation.
Before joining Lawson Huck Gonzalez, Buddy was a litigation associate for a highly respected mid-size law firm in Miami. There, Buddy primarily worked on the maritime-litigation team, representing cruise lines, tug-and-barge owners, commercial shipping companies, shipyards, and off-shore drilling entities. He also contributed to the firm’s criminal-defense team and defended a former U.S. Congressman during a six-week federal trial. Before private practice, Buddy was a judicial law clerk for Justice John Couriel of the Florida Supreme Court and Judge Roy Altman of the Southern District of Florida.
Buddy graduated with a joint-JD/MPP from Harvard Law School and the Harvard Kennedy School of Government in 2022. Before that, Buddy served as an officer in the United States Coast Guard for five years, serving aboard cutters RELIANCE and JOSEPH TEZANOS. He participated in law enforcement and humanitarian missions from the Gulf of Maine to the Caribbean Basin. Prior to beginning Coast Guard Officer Candidate School, Buddy graduated cum laude in government from Harvard College in 2012, earning a Certificate in Latin American Studies.
