Biography
Josh Webb represents clients in some of the most important matters they face. Clients quoted in Chambers USA remark that Josh “provides amazing service and inspires confidence,” is “meticulous, thoughtful, and whip-smart,” as well as “an experienced trial lawyer” and “a tenacious litigator,” who is “smart and focused on the endgame.”
For nearly twenty years, Josh has represented companies of all sizes and individuals in the prosecution and defense of complex commercial litigation, trials, and appeals that involve a variety of business-related disputes. He has litigated and tried cases throughout the state of Florida, and in business and complex case divisions of courts and forums in other jurisdictions including New York, California, and Delaware. Josh devotes a substantial portion of his practice to representing clients in professional liability matters for law firms and company directors and officers. For many years, Josh‘s practice has been recognized and awarded in different rankings and legal publications, including Chambers USA where Josh has been one of only nine lawyers in Tampa (and one of only several dozen in Florida) to be recognized in the area of commercial litigation.
In addition to his active litigation practice, clients seek out Josh’s advice and counsel on matters surrounding significant transactions and governance questions. With his experience, Josh has counseled organizations ranging from startups in their infancy to leading international companies and the world’s largest law firms, as well as their employees, executives, and directors.
Over the course of his career, Josh has always been committed to serving the judicial branch of government and the legal profession beyond his day-to-day practice. Josh was appointed by Governor Ron DeSantis to serve a three-year term on the Second District Court of Appeal Judicial Nominating Commission, where he assists in evaluating applicants for judicial office and making recommendations to the Governor for appointments. More recently, Josh was selected by the judges of the Middle District of Florida to serve on the merit selection panel for the appointment of a new magistrate judge. In addition, Josh has served as the chair of, and on the national steering committees for the young lawyers section of an international defense and business bar organization, as well as on the steering committee of its professional liability section, and multiple standing committees of The Florida Bar and its Young Lawyers Division Board of Governors.
Josh also stays very active in the community and at home. He serves as the chairman of the board of directors of Bok Tower Gardens, a non-profit public garden and National Historic Landmark in Lake Wales, Florida where he grew up, and Josh and his growing family are active parishioners at Christ the King Catholic Church in Tampa, Florida.
